Terms of use
Last updated November 6, 2026
The short version: your ideas and your work are yours. We use them only to do what you ask, we do not keep your ideas, and we never use them to train AI.
1. What these terms cover
These terms cover your use of x-Arbiter at x-arbiter.com: your account, your projects, Explore (starting a startup idea and researching something), and the dashboard. They are between you and Ghost Works LLC, which makes x-Arbiter.
The x-Arbiter software you install in a repository is licensed under its own license agreement, which governs that software. The Ghost Works website (ghost-works.ai) has its own terms, which cover that site only.
2. Your ideas and your work stay yours
You own what you bring and what you make here. That includes your startup ideas, your stories, your Lean Canvas, your research questions and notes, your assumptions and evidence, your product definition, and your code. Ghost Works claims no ownership of any of it.
We use it only to do what you ask. You give Ghost Works a limited permission to handle your words only to provide the service you request: for example, to send your story to the AI so it can answer you. That permission is not a license to use, publish, sell, or build on your ideas, and it ends when the request is answered.
We do not keep your ideas. In Explore, your words are kept in your own folder on your computer, or in your browser until you save them to a folder. x-arbiter.com stores the name you give a project (and a short description, if you add one), never its story, canvas or research.
We never use your ideas or your work to train AI, and never give them to anyone to train AI.
We do not compete with you using what you tell us. Ghost Works will not use your ideas to build or help anyone build a competing product.
3. The included AI
Explore includes an AI, today Grok from xAI. When you use it, your words pass through x-Arbiter to xAI to be answered. Ghost Works does not keep them. xAI keeps API requests for 30 days for abuse checks and then deletes them, and states that it never trains on them without permission. You are told this, and asked, before you first use it, and you can start an idea without it.
What the AI says is not a verdict. It helps you think, argues against your idea, and says what backs each claim. It does not validate an idea, and nothing it says is legal, financial or investment advice. Only evidence from outside, gathered by you, can show that an idea works, and only you decide.
The included AI has a monthly allowance, stated where you use it. When it is used up, it stops and says so; it never charges you more without asking.
4. Your account
Keep your sign-in and second factor to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. You can delete a project at any time (it waits 30 days in Recently deleted, where you can restore it, and is then removed for good), and you can delete your account.
A project in an organization can be seen by that organization's members as the organization allows. Your own sessions on a project are shown to its other members only if you say yes, on the project's Team page.
5. Using it fairly
- Do not use x-Arbiter to break the law or to harm, deceive or harass anyone.
- Do not try to get into another person's account, project or data, or around x-Arbiter's security.
- Do not overload the service, or use the included AI for anything other than your own Explore work.
- Do not paste in material you have no right to use.
6. What is ours
x-Arbiter itself (its software, its laws and rubrics, its methods and its name) belongs to Ghost Works. Using the service gives you no rights in it beyond using it as these terms and your license agreement allow.
7. What we cannot promise
We work to keep x-Arbiter available and correct, but it is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, Ghost Works is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on what x-Arbiter or its AI said.
8. Changes
If we change these terms, we change the date above, and for anything that affects your ideas or your data we tell you in the product before it applies. We will never change the promises in “Your ideas and your work stay yours” to take rights in work you have already brought here.
